NSW Photographs c.1920/30's Windsor, Leeton, Shore School, Charlottes Pass,
Two Family Photograph Albums from the family of CAPTAIN CHARLES BATEMAN (1892-1979) & his son FLIGHT SERGEANT PETER BATEMAN (1923-1944). Charles Bateman was a doctor and the son of Dr Arthur Bateman of Albion Park. Charles joined The Australian Army Medical Corps in WW1 and served from 1916 to 1919 in France as a Medical Officer. When he returned he married Gladys Loveday from Leeton, in 1934 bought a practice in Windsor where he practiced until 1972. His only child Peter was born in Leeton, he enlisted in WW11 in October 1942 when he joined the R.A.A.F No.69 Squadron (Service number 424720). Peter was shot down and killed while flying a Wellington bomber over Belgium in November 1942. Most of the images of the family are from the 1920/30's includes pictures of the men in uniform, family groups in the Windsor area, a number of Shore School North Sydney, Charlottes Pass & skiing, Approximately 230 photographs either loose or in an album, photographs tipped-in in one album, the other with corner mounts, framed portrait of Peter Bateman.
