WW1 Letters Home Sapper Adrian Lord,
Collection of letters written by Adrian Lord (Service Number 6535) to his sister Hilda in Melbourne whilst he was serving overseas. Adrian was thirty years old when he enlisted on the 16th October 1915 with the 5th Field Company Engineers A.I.F. He left Australia March 1916 aboard HMAT Orsova A67 as part of the 4th Reinforcements. The letters are mostly written from France, also London, at Sea, Egypt & America. Includes dried flowers from the battlefields of France, miscellaneous photographs, a vintage map measuring wheel Centimetres To Kilometres in leather pouch & a compass. Adrian Lord returned to Australia in September 1919. Collection housed in wooden cigar box
