ESTATE AUCTION

Magnificent epergnes, exquisite furniture, noted artworks, Royal Doulton character jugs and George Jensen stainless steel cutlery are among the fine offerings of an Estate Auction to be held on Wednesday 29 April.

The auction of art, antique furniture, crystalware and collectables principally sourced from the one estate will be held at Theodore Bruce Auctions at 46 First Street, Brompton, beginning at 6.00 pm.

Other highlights include crystal decanters, claret jugs, militaria, cast iron money boxes, brass nautical lamps, telescopes, compasses and assorted paraphernalia.

Complementing the beautiful furniture on offer is a rare Australian Colonial (Tasmanian) cedar chiffonier, a grand extension dining table to match, fine mahogany chests of drawers, sideboards, walnut credenzas and sitting room suites – including a splendid Victorian walnut chaise longue with matching grandmother and grandfather chair.

Australian art on offer includes pieces by renowned artists Robert Dickerson, David Bromley, Lawrence Daws, Ningura Naparrula, while international paintings include Stuart Maxwell Armfield, H.J. Knox, Fritz Alfons, as well as framed 19th Century engravings and lithographs.

“It is truly an auction that has something for everyone,” said James Bruce, 4th generation auctioneer.

“Of particular interest to me is the crystalware which includes large scale vases as well as decanters and other drinking paraphernalia; however collectors of 18th and 19th Century English and Continental furniture will not be disappointed.”

Inspection – Tuesday 28 April from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday 29 April from 10am – 5pm.
