RARE AND CLASSIC CARS

DATE: 21 May

LOCATION: Adelaide

A selection of rare and classic motor cars – including a 1928 Austin Seven Tourer, a 1958 Holden FJ Special and an Austin Seven ‘Ulster’ Replica – will be offered for sale by public auction on Saturday 21 May.

The sale will be held at Theodore Bruce Auctions, 116 – 118 Magill Road, Norwood, at 12 noon.

The collection – part of a deceased estate – also includes two contemporary motor vehicles; a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E240 Classic and a 2004 Holden Sedan Berlina Series II.

Highlights of the auction include:

1928 Austin Seven Tourer (estimate $4000 – $6000)
1937 Austin Seven Tourer (estimate $7000 – $10 000)
1932 Austin Seven Saloon (estimate $5000 – $7000)
1929 Austin Seven Roadster (estimate $6000 – $8000)
A rare Austin Seven ‘Ulster’ Replica is also on offer. ‘This open cockpit motorcar is estimated to realise between $7000 and $10 000. Similar vehicles are fetching three times the amount when offered in the United Kingdom,’ said auctioneer James Bruce.

Also in the auction is a 1954 Holden FJ Special (estimate $7000 – $10 000) and a 1947 MG ‘YA’ Sedan (estimate $8000 – $10 000).

A personal favourite of the auctioneer is the 1975 Mercedes-Benz 250 Compact Saloon, which is in original condition and is likely to realise $5000 to $7000.

‘We recommend the sale to collectors and the general public alike, as single vendor offerings of such quality rarely come forward to market in South Australia and the genuine nature of the offering ensures all vehicles will be sold on the day,’ said James Bruce.
