Description:

A Chinese porcelain dish in underglaze blue with a central painting of a rooster. The rooster used on dishes is quite rare. The rooster is the tenth animal in the horoscope and a person born in that year is hard-working and definite about their decisions. In one of Mao Zedong poems the line "The rooster sings, the bright sky turns..." Qing dynasty 18th century. Rim frits and small chips to the brown biscuit edge. 22.5cm
