Description:

A Fine Pair of Old Canoe Prow Ornaments, Geelvink Bay, Northwest Coast of West Papua (Irian Jaya), Indonesia, Early 20th Century,
these were off very old war canoes that were no longer made or used but the canoe ornaments were kept as family heirlooms & had traditional wealth value and were used in bride dowry payments. Both of the finials have well carved Korwar Ancestor Figures.
