a naturalist sculpture with well delineated features, the head lowered revealing a ruyi shape on the crown, a long muzzle, wide eyes & round ears, in a standing position with two paws resting on his ample tummy, a hole on the reverse of a collar, probably used a a talisman, small lustre patches

Provenance: An important Sydney private collection

Note: The Bear has been an important symbol since ancient times & associated with myths. The green is achieved in the same way as the green glaze; different oxides, Cobalt blue copper & light blue chrome green, etc.
