Description:

A Rare Chinese Solid Plank, Well Aged, the Density at 650kg/m3 suggests Dalbergia Hainanensis, Huanghuali
the small lugs underneath were for keeping it in place as part of a bench top balanced over two side tables, of this heavy two metre plank, the wood is from one of the 125 worldwide genus of Dalbergia with a number of sub species located in Asia.
Note: This species was used extensively in the 16th & 17th century for furniture and commonly known as huanghuali, either from Guangdong Province or Hainan Island.
Condition: the patination of a yellow hue & natural oily surface evident after removal from two decades in storage
