A Savjbulak Rug, Northern Persia, circa 1880
Such Kurdish rugs are made by tribal nomads in the very north of Persia or possibly the southern Caucasus. They are relatively coarse in knotting and often shaped by variable loom tensions.

Collection of items is Onsite at Pyrmont on Wednesday 5 June 9.30am-2pm.
