  • Provenance: George Henry Cox was born in October 1824 to George & Eliza Cox in Mulgoa, aftr 3 years at The Kings School, then tutelage under Rev TC Makinson, Cox became manager of his father's grant's in Mudgee, where rented farms of 40 acres on the flats of the Cudgeogong River.
    In 1864 he completed a large homestead on Burrundulla which replaced the original homestead, which was adorned with prints & artworks collected in Europe and some well know works by Conrad Martens. He died in 1901

  • Medium: Watercolour, heightened with gouache
  • Condition: Age discoloured paper, darker to edges, matt burn, over colouring with chalk, staining & foxing, glued at all edges to backing board, later framing
