Painted by one of the oldest traditional artists of Arnhem Land.
Gurramatji Ceremony represents the opening of the wet season, the design depicts magpie geese & waterlilies of the billabongs. The habits of the birds are re-enacted through song & dance during the ceremony. The men performing the ceremony are clad in fine feathers from the geese & new born babies are blessed with the first laid eggs of the wet season
