  • Provenance: The Estate of the Late Dora Toovey, thence by descent

    The Artist travelled many times to remote outback Australia, usually on bus tours, to visit her son James Murray Jackson, who was working as a geologist in remote locations. She took her artist's materials with her, painting when she could during breaks such as morning & afternoon tea.
    Towards the end of her life she was working towards an exhibition of these works but the exhibition was cancelled unexpectedly & she died before another could be organised.

  • Condition: Water affected right hand side, losses, staining to reverse, original frame
