  • Provenance: F (Frank) Meade Norton (usually titled simply F M Norton) was exhibiting in Sydney during the 1920s and 1930s. He exhibited two pictures with the Australian Art Society in 1930, including one painting titled ‘Avalon', which is possibly the current painting. He exhibited another three paintings with the Society in 1939. He is mentioned in various press reports during the 1920s, including a mention of an exhibition at the Grosvenor Galleries, after his return from an overseas trip. He was mentioned in several press reports from the 1920s , including a photo of him in the The Sun in November 1925. see Trove
