James was one of 5 brothers who were all Professional golfers. James started his career as a clubmaker serving an apprenticeship with Willie Parks of Musselburgh. Later at his own club making business and was also a Professional, giving lessons at North Berwick GC in the 1920's. James Watt was an Uncle of Alex G Watt who was a fine teacher. See his book "Collecting Old Golfing Clubs". Shaft Hickory & stamped "Jas Watt Special." Grip leather possibly original. Face regular dot punched.
