Accompanying this work is a letter from Patrick Hoppe regarding the works & a photograph of the artist with the work. Hoppe was employed by Ochre Gallery in Kununurra in 1995. He returned to Wamun in 1996 and commissioned a series of works by Rover Thomas, including this painting. Another work by Rover Thomas commissioned by Patrick Hoppe (Red Earth Art) was sold as Lot 267 at Sotheby's Important Aboriginal Art sale on July 24, 2007.

LITERATURE:
Rover states that: "When the moon comes out bright it is morning time".
The top left representation is the 'Moon', the top right is the 'Sun', the bottom left the 'Evening Star' & bottom right the 'Midnight Star'.
