Three Old Asmat Spears, Fos Village Upper Siretjs River Area, West Papua, Indonesia [3],
these old spears, each had a personal name, are family heirlooms passed down through several generations, estimated to be from the 1920s from a fight between the people of Awok & Damen villages. The spears were cut down or broken in use, normally around 3 meters long, with beautiful open work carving & barbed tops all made from a single piece of hardwood
