Description:

Traditional Dayak Ikat Cloth
This traditional ikat pua kumbu was hand-woven by Dayak women in a longhouse on the Rajang River in Sarawak a half a century or more ago. Hung, folded, or draped over ceremonial constructions or laid on the floor during important rituals, the pua kumbu assisted in demarcating sacred space as they afforded protection and invited the blessings of the ancestors.
