A Rare Old Massim Carved Dwarf Coconut Container for Holding Red Shell Money Discs Milne Bay Province in Papua New Guinea,
this is a rare type of Women's Object that was used for storing important pieces of shell money ndap.

Described to me by the Massim art expert & friend the late Dr Harry Beran. These were used by women not only to store but also to magically attract Red Shell Money which was a very important type of traditional wealth

Finely incised with Massim scrolling designs & highlighted with white lime that is used for chewing betel nut.
